Race entry must be completed with SSNZ directly.\n\n\nAge Groups: Northern Ski Team will be representing and offering race day support to athletes in the following age groups for this event: \n\nUnder 8\nUnder 10\nUnder 12\nUnder 14\n\nAthlete Chaperone Available: \n\nYes\, athlete chaperone applications will be accepted for this event. There will be a maximum of 4 x chaperone spaces. See more information below\n\n\n  \nEquipment: \n\nAll athletes must wear a helmet at all times. This is compulsory across all Northern Ski Team programmes. Back protectors are also recommended for athletes. DESCRIPTION:This weekend is set to be one of the biggest race events of the 2021 junior race calendar… We can’t wait for all to join us! \nWe strongly recommend athletes join us for the 3-day option\, which will see us spend the Friday race training (at either Porters or Mt Hutt)\, followed by GS race day on the Saturday and SL race day on the Sunday.For those athletes that can’t take the Friday off school\, then take the 2-day option and join us for the Saturday and Sunday. \nWe’ve arranged a deal with Barkers Lodge in Methven for accommodation for the team (more information below) \nCoaches in attendance for this camp will be: \n\nJustin Stoddard\nDuane Barakat\nAdrian Farnsworth\n\nThere are two options available for this weekend: \n\n  3-Day Option\n\nFriday 10th September\n\nTraining Day at Porters or Mt Hutt\n\n\nSaturday 11th September\n\nRace 1 = GS South Island Junior Interfield Champs\nRace 2 = GS Mt Hutt Junior Interfield \n\n\nSunday 12th September\n\nRace 1 = SL South Island Junior Interfield Champs\nRace 2 = SL Mt Hutt Junior Interfield\n\n\n\n\n  2-Day Option\n\nSaturday 11th September\n\nRace 1 = GS South Island Junior Interfield Champs\nRace 2 = GS Mt Hutt Junior Interfield \n\n\nSunday 12th September\n\nRace 1 = SL South Island Junior Interfield Champs\nRace 2 = SL Mt Hutt Junior Interfield \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTraining Fees:\n\n\n\n3-Day Option(Fri 10th Sep – Sun 12th Sep)$390.002-Day Option – Add to Cart(Sat 11th Sep – Sun 12th Sep)$260.00\n\n\n\nWhat’s included:\n\n\n\nTraining day coaching\, which will consist of 2-4 hours of training in a race lane (dependent on weather and snow conditions)\, followed by general skier improvement training in the afternoon.Race day ski tune and wax on Friday and Saturday nights for all athletes that have their skis at Barkers Lodge.Race day representation and coaching\, which will consist of: representation of Northern Ski Team athletes at official meetings; collection of race bibs; race day briefings with athletes; course inspection with athletes; and assistance and support at the start gate. Following prize-giving\, we will head back on-snow for some free-skiing together as time and conditions allow.Off-snow activities for bad weather days\, off-snow afternoons and evenings will be arranged for athletes and families.  We have heaps of options\, including hikes\, trips (including Christchurch city centre & Hanmer Springs) and hireage of the local hall (80 metres from Smylies) for dryland training or fun and games.\n\n\n\nWhat’s Not Included:\n\n\n\nLift Passes for athletes. Mt Hutt lift passes for competitors (those aged 11 and older) are discounted to $34.50 for each of the race days.  Children aged 10 and under ski for free at Porters and Mt Hutt.Interfield race entry for the race events. Athletes will be required to register and pay via the Snow Sports NZ website. Please ensure that athletes select Northern Ski Team as the training provider and club that they are representing.Return flights to Christchurch. Currently\, it looks like Jetstar have the more reasonably priced fares across this weekend.Accommodation during the weekend.Tony and the awesome team at Barkers Lodge have opened up the lodge for our team during this weekend. If you plan on driving up to the ski resorts\, please be sure to rent a 4WD or AWD vehicle and be sure to add chain hire if the forecast is looking like there is a possibility of snow during our visit.\n\n\n\nFAQs\n\n\n\nWhat is the refund policy? We have a strict ‘no refunds’ policy for this camp (including for bad weather days). This policy is due to the fixed-costs associated with running these weekends.If the weekend does not proceed for any reason\, we will provide 100% refund on all payments made to Northern Ski Team.In the scenario of bad weather days\, we will run an alternative day of off-snow training and activities. This may include activities such as:– Indoor activities and training at the hall in Springfield– Hikes and outdoor activities– Trips to Christchurch\, Hanmer Springs\, etc.   Are chaperone opportunities available? For this camp\, we are able to chaperone a limited number of athletes. However\, chaperone is by application only and the final decision is at the sole discretion of the NST executive committee.The chaperone cost for this camp is $150 per night\, which includes:– Accommodation– Dinner & breakfast– Ground transport while in Christchurch– Adult supervision throughout the campFor families considering chaperone\, see below the current details for the coaches’ flights to help with your planning.
